About Dr Alison De Souza

Alison graduated with honours from Monash University and trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Mercy Hospital for Women in Victoria. She obtained her Membership in 2002 and Fellowship in 2005 of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Post fellowship training in Urogynaecology has led to expertise in the management of bladder and bowel dysfunction including incontinence, prolapse and sexual dysfunction. Alison is a Certified Urogynaecologist with RANZCOG and is experienced in advanced pelvic floor reconstruction.

Alison is a Certified Practising Colposcopist managing all aspects of cervical dysplasia. She also treats many women with general gynaecology, bleeding and menopausal concerns. Alison has experience managing perineal trauma and works in the Perineal clinic at The Mercy Hospital for Women treating women with third and fourth degree tears.

Alison is actively involved in teaching and research with several scientific publications and presentations at national and international meetings.

Alison's aim is to ensure her patients are fully informed regarding their health care choices and feel secure they are receiving the best possible care.
